This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect your Personal Information, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

3. What information we collect

3.1 Information you give us directly

Full name, email address, phone number, physical addresses (pickup and delivery), preferred move date, rough inventory of items, any special requirements, payment information (processed via secure third-party processors — we do not store card details), and communications you send us (email, WhatsApp, SMS, phone recordings if made).

3.2 Information we collect automatically

Website usage data via cookies and similar technologies (see Cookie Policy), IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages visited, time spent, and actions taken (via Google Analytics 4).

3.3 Information from other sources

Publicly available information (e.g. property listings if provided by referring estate agents), reviews and testimonials you post on Google, HelloPeter, Facebook or other platforms, and information from partners such as estate agents or corporate relocation providers — only where they have your consent to share.

3.4 Special Personal Information

We do not knowingly collect Special Personal Information (as defined in POPIA S.26). If you volunteer such information, we process it only for the purpose you disclosed it.

4. Why we process your Personal Information

To provide you with a quote, perform the moving services you booked, communicate with you before/during/after your move, send appointment confirmations, request feedback, improve our services, keep records for tax/VAT/insurance/legal purposes, send marketing communications (only where you have opted in), and defend legal claims.

5. Lawful basis for processing (POPIA S.11)

Consent — for marketing, testimonials, photo publication and non-essential cookies. Contract performance — to deliver the move you booked. Legal obligation — for tax, VAT and employment records. Legitimate interest — for fraud prevention, security and service improvement.

6. Who we share your information with

Quote enquiries: 12 months. Move records: 5 years. Marketing consent photos: until withdrawn or 5 years. Marketing lists: until unsubscribe or 2 years inactive. Website analytics: 26 months. Staff records: 5 years post-employment.

9. How we protect your information

HTTPS/TLS encryption, password-protected access, two-factor authentication on key accounts, restricted access on a need-to-know basis, written operator agreements, and staff privacy briefings. Despite our efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we experience a Personal Information breach that may affect you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA S.22.

10. Your rights under POPIA

11. Direct marketing

We only send marketing where you have opted in. Every marketing communication includes an unsubscribe option.

12. Children’s data
