Understanding your moving cost estimate
The figure above is a rough guide based on average South African moving costs. Every move is different — factors like access difficulties (stairs, narrow corridors, complex rules), the volume and fragility of your belongings, and the time of year all affect the final price.
For a more accurate quote, request a personalised estimate from our team. We’ll ask about your specific situation and give you an honest price within two working hours.

Factors that change the price
- Volume: More furniture means a bigger truck (or more trips) and more crew time.
- Distance: Local moves within Gauteng are charged differently from long-distance routes.
- Access: Stairs, lifts that need booking, narrow passages, and complex/estate access rules add time.
- Packing: Full packing by our crew costs more than self-packed moves, but reduces damage risk significantly.
- Storage: If you need short-term storage between moves, that’s an additional cost.
- Time of year: Month-end, school holidays and December are peak moving periods — booking early often secures better rates.
B&W Movers prices in ZAR (R) and accepts cash, EFT and card payments. All quotes include transport, loading, unloading and basic furniture protection. Full packing services and storage are available as add-ons.
